My community: Chat ’n Run

Frank Soeters ·

So, I’ll give you some more information about the Chat ’n Run (CNR) community.

As I looked into my profile details on the website, I noticed that I’m almost subscribed for two years now. I didn’t knew that any more!  Sorry Niels, apparently I’ve been member for a while. But only since a couple of months I really started to participate on the CNR forum. Before that I was really a lurker: only viewing (sometimes) and not participate. I’ll explain how I came to this forum.

The exploration of CNR

I follow the stories of a running friend at his website (Jogger Jo). On his ‘links’ page a found the CNR link.

cnrAt the first glance, the website looks a bit old-fashioned. Very bright colours, not the most beautiful icons etc… But, there seems to be a lot of content on it.

I went straight for the FORUM section. I thought: this is the place where other runners meet and talk about stuff. And indeed, a lot of runners and a lot of discussions about very different topics. In the first period (about 1,5 year) I didn’t visited the site very much. But in that time a lot has changed for me as runner. At some point I really had some questions and a need for other runners’ opinions. So then I went back to the CNR forum, post my first topic, and kept checking for any replies. And it surprised me! Fast replies, very informal and very personal.

And then?

So that was my start! After that I posted a little bit more, but not yet very much. Mostly if I have a own problem or question, or if it’s a topic about a match I’m going to.

I’ll go a bit more into detail next post! 😉

Cheers, Frank
